The
O’Fallon Fire Department strives to stay on the cutting
edge of technology to better serve our community and make
firefighting tasks easier. These pictures are some of the

We encourage our residents to stop by any of our engine houses
and see first hand, the impressive array of equipment and
tools that each truck carries. |

Supported
by funds raised from the department's annual golf tournament,

CHILD
SAFETY |
The
O’Fallon Fire Department is proud to offer free child
safety seat checks to protect our community’s youngest
members. A properly installed child safety seat or booster
seat will greatly improve your child’s chance of surviving
a crash and is now the law in Illinois. Since our program
started in 2003, 90% of the seats that have been inspected
by our technicians came to us installed incorrectly. Please
contact the fire department at 624-4520 for more information,
to schedule an appointment or find the dates to attend one
of our safety seat check events held throughout the year.
Please visit the following link to see if the seat you are
currently using has been recalled http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/recallsearch.cfm |

Detectors and Pizza |
Does
your smoke detector work? If so your next pizza could be free.
Every Tuesday night the on duty crew delivers a pizza from
the O'Fallon Pizza Hut to a resident of the city or surrounding
fire district. If the smoke detectors work, the pizza is free.
If the detector does not work, we replace the battery or install
a new detector. We began this service based on the original
idea of the Albany, New York Fire Department. |

Are
you between the ages of 14-21? Do you have what it takes
to be a fire explorer? If so, the O'Fallon Fire Department
has an opportunity for you. The department is sponsoring an
explorer program in conjunction with the local boy scouts.
This program is designed to introduce young people to the
fire service. The explorers receive hands-on training, and
assist the fire department in a support role. Many explorers
move on to a career or volunteer position in the fire service. |
