A VISIT FROM SERVICE DOGS IN TRAINING

For the past several years, we have had the pleasure of working with Canine Companions for Independence and Leader Dogs for the Blind. These organizations provide service dogs to veterans, the blind, and those living with many other disabilities. To ensure the service dogs are familiar with as many different smells, sounds and situations as possible, members of these organizations bring the dogs-in-training by the firehouse. While at the firehouse, the dogs become familiar with how we look, sound and smell while in full protective equipment. We're proud to play a small part in the education of these canines! And, of course...we enjoy the opportunity to give each pup a belly rub and a scratch behind the ears.
